Samsung OneUI 2.0 Beta Update Locking Out Galaxy S10 Users, Remote Unlock Proves Ineffective: Reports
Something similar happened with Samsung Galaxy S10 users back in July as well.
Samsung kicked off the Android 10 beta programme for the Galaxy S10 earlier this month, bringing One UI 2.0 to the flagship phone. But it appears the latest One UI 2.0 beta update based on Android 10 is locking some users out, rejecting any form of authentication input whatsoever even after repeated attempts. We have come across reports from multiple users that they were locked out after installing the new One UI 2.0 beta update, and even an attempt to reset the password at this time doesn't seem to be working for the affected Galaxy S10 users.
Multiple users have written about the issue on the official Samsung community forum as well as the XDA-Developers forum, explaining how the phone rejects all forms of password input after restarting it once the update has been installed. The Galaxy S10 units plagued by the bug refuse all forms of authentication inputs, be it a password, pattern, or the fingerprint scan, and simply labels it as incorrect.
Even worse is the fact that the Remote Unlock feature is also not working as expected, as users who access the Find My Phone service for deleting their old passwords and biometrics are stuck. This appears to be because the bug causes the Galaxy S10 to reject all passwords as incorrect, which means users can't set up a new PIN or fingerprint if they use the Remote Unlock feature. The only resort for Galaxy S10 users who have been locked out of their phone after installing the latest One UI 2.0 beta update is to prompt a factory reset and revert back to Android Pie.
But unfortunately for some users, they continue to be locked out of their phone even after going back to Android Pie. At this point of time, it is tough to comprehend how Samsung will solve the issue for affected Galaxy S10 users as rolling out a corrective update may not be enough, because users have to unlock the device in the first place to install the update. Waking Mars is a one-of-a-kind adventure in which you jetpack through subterranean Mars encountering a host of extraordinary alien lifeforms that operate as a living, breathing ecosystem.
biomass, opening living doors that bar your progress. A meter at the top of the screen keeps track of the total biomass of an area, and various Zoa are worth more biomass than others. While the way Waking Mars artificially walls you into areas feels a bit cheap at times, there’s a certain reward to achieving a max biomass in each area. Over time you’re introduced to many types of Zoa, from benevolent species that will heal you to others that will consume anything that comes close and still more than aren’t plantable but instead run wild like scurrying insects. Later areas become fully-fledged biomes, wherein you have to delicately balance the number and type of Zoa in an area to achieve maximum biomass. Sometimes this involves your direct attention, and in these cases the levels feel like smartly designed puzzles. In other areas it’s as simple as planting a few seeds and being patient as life forms strike a natural balance. There’s a really smart and careful design to the Zoa and how they interact, and creating what is essentially a self-sustaining mini world is really neat.
Initially the sense of discovery and awe of seeing something new in Waking Mars makes it exciting to move from cave to cave, but it drags towards the end. Finding all the Zoa doesn’t mark the end of the research (you still have to see how they react to one another, what their weaknesses and strengths are, etc.), but eventually there are no more creatures to find, and the only way to proceed will be blocked until you get enough five or four-star ratings in caves. The reward that comes from maxing out the biomass in a room diminishes as you do it over and over, and with nothing new to see or learn it really soured the sense of excitement and discovery so well established by much of Waking Mars.
The weak narrative and cast can’t support the parts where the gameplay becomes tedious, either. Liang’s calculated disposition makes him feel a bit dull. The supporting characters? Utterly forgettable. The story goes in decidedly predictable directions, and, with the exception of its final moments, never served as a compelling reason for continuing to play. Ultimately you’re left with more questions than answers at the end, which isn’t a very satisfying conclusion after all the work you did as an interstellar farmer.

TOUCH VERSUS PC CONTROLS
The PC version gives you the precision of analog sticks or mouse and keyboard, whereas on iPhone or iPad you’re left with the touchscreen. Touch just doesn’t allow the same fine movements, and maneuvering feels a bit sloppier. It’s not unplayable by any means, but I always feel a bit less in control with the touchscreen version of Waking Mars.
THE VERDICT
Waking Mars introduces you to a world of bizarre life and at first succeeds in making it fun to play with. After the wonder wears off, though, things just start to drag.Waking Mars ends up feeling too long for the number of mechanics included, and without an excellent story to carry it, its shortcomings stand out more and more as the levels go on.

Similarly, levels are lovely to look at, but they’re not nearly as much fun to race through. Like the F1 season, tracks are set across the globe, from Japan to Italy, Brazil to the USA. Each one is a charming condensation of that country’s most iconic landmarks and symbols. In Japan, you’ll weave in and out of warring Sumo wrestlers, dodge bowing geishas serving noodles, and jockey for position on top of Shinkansen. Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, you’ll scale gigantic hotels which open up like rollercoasters, navigate building sites, before ending up in the desert. It’s all rendered in a quaint and quirky style, like everything has been constructed using pastels and plastic.

The F1 licence differentiates Race Stars from other kart racers in some important ways. The first thing you’ll notice is the lack of a drifting mechanic. After all, this is Formula 1 and you’ll have to learn how to take a corner by using your brakes, slipstreaming and finding the perfect racing line, not by sliding around it. It feels odd to brake so frequently in a kart racer, and even on the highest speed class (3000cc) races still feel a tad pedestrian, with cars lacking decent acceleration. This is where the KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) fitted to each car comes into play. Periodically, you’ll drive over section of track that allows you to fill up the KERS by repeatedly squeezing the right trigger. Do it three times and your tank will be brimming with energy, allowing you to zoom off with a satisfying F1 screech. But it never really confers that much of an advantage, since most racers will max out their tank. It requires less skill than artfully drifting around the corner while avoiding obstacles.
The differences between the F1 teams themselves are reflected by drivers having unique abilities. Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and his teammate Felipe Massa, for instance, can fire a red bubble backwards, which is quite handy. McLaren’s Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, can swap their power-up. But apart from these minor abilities, most drivers and teams feel the same.
The cutesy exterior belies F1 Race Star’s frustrating gameplay. Of course, like any decent kart racer, there should always be an element of levelling chance. Blessed with the right power-up and enough skill, coming back from last place with one lap to go should be well within your reach. But in F1 Race Stars it’s hard to turn things around. If you slip to the back of the pack, you can rarely claw your way back to the front. This wouldn’t be so frustrating if races didn’t drag on so much but tracks are long and a single race might take in excess of five or six minutes. In multiplayer, this frustration is diluted somewhat – you feel more in the mix but ultimately, the same problems persist – insipid power-ups and staid gameplay.
The game isn’t helped by the way it’s organised either. It feels a little empty; the career mode consists of tracks combined in a multitude of cynical ways – European tracks, Oceanian tracks and so on. There are some themed Championships, such as ‘Refuel Racket’ in which you constantly need to top up your fuel tank by collecting gas, but ultimately it’s token variety. It whiffs of padding and you’ll quickly feel like you’re playing the same tracks, over and over. And though they’re vibrant and nicely designed, it just starts to drag.
THE VERDICT
For a caricature to succeed it must capture the likeness of the original but exaggerate it in a way that raises a smile. But F1 Race Stars rarely achieves this. It’s a failed caricature, its cute and charming appearance totally undermined by its frustrating and frequently bland gameplay. Sometimes nice games finish in last place.
