Huawei P30 Pro Review ANDROID MOBILE PHONE FEATURES
Huawei's wondered phone is P30 Pro!

Huawei's wondered phone is P30 Pro! Here is the Huawei P30 Pro review with all the details!
Huawei recently introduced the new admiral P30 Pro. The event, held in Paris we also  CHIP Online  has taken place as required and  Huawei P30  model, both  Huawei preliminary examination of the P30 Pro models  , we share with you. Now we've come to the  Huawei P30 Pro review .

In this review, we will present you with all the benefits, innovations, performance tests and more of the Huawei P30 Pro. First of all, it will be right to say that the  Huawei P30 Pro is on sale as two different models in our country. One of them is the model with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory, and the other with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Also available in the Huawei P30.

At the moment, 3 phones are pre-ordered and can be purchased with an important campaign limited to inventories. The price of the Huawei P30 Pro is  7999 TL . However, as we said, there is an important plus during the campaign, as it is the Watch GT smart watch  gift that we made the review before  . In addition, a 3-month guarantee of screen protection is also a gift. Especially when one of the new smart watches, Watch GT, has a sales price of around 1000 TL, Huawei P30 Pro will be a remarkable model among the flagship smart phones during this campaign.

Before that, let's say that the Huawei P30 Pro's 128 GB model is pre-ordering at £ 6999 and the price of the Huawei P30 is $ 5699, and let's start with the design of the Huawei P30 Pro.

How to Design a Huawei P30 Pro?

The Huawei P30 Pro is one of the most striking smartphones we've come to see in recent years. The phone, which changes tone according to its position under the light with its gradient colors, looks so impressive. The   P30 Pro is also available in the blue color, called Aurora . This gradient transition effect, of course, is more obvious in blue and crystal white. In the meantime, the fingerprints on the surface of the phone again let him say.

The dual 3D curved glass used in the  phone provides a good grip on the front and back by wrapping the phone. However, the size of the phone is a bit large, and of course, it is a bit difficult to access the top edges of the screen, just like similar models. Of course there is one-hand operation mode available. You can reduce the screen by pulling the main screen icon from the navigation keys.

The P30 Pro has a length of 158 mm and a width of 73 mm. At the point of thickness is 8.4 mm. The phone also weighs 192 grams. In this context, it is possible to say that Huawei  is heavier than the Mate 20 Pro  and P20 Pro and  Galaxy S10 + . Again the P30 Pro is thicker than the 7.8 mm Galaxy S10 +.

If we look around the P30 Pro, we can see the power and volume buttons on the right side of the phone. When you press this power button,  Google Now  appears. If you press and hold, you reach the options for turning off the phone and restarting.

The USB-C port  and speaker are located on the lower edge. The 3.5 mm headphone jack does not appear on this phone.

The SIM card slot is also positioned at the bottom. The SIM card drawer does not have a microSD card slot just like the Mate 20 Pro. Instead, Huawei has also  made room for a Nano Memory card in the P30 Pro  . This card entry, which is unique to Huawei, is also used to increase storage capacity, such as a microSD card. But it will be necessary to wait for its prevalence to increase.

Behind the phone is an impressive camera area. These cameras will be explained in more detail in the following steps.

Another thing to mention about the design of the phone is water resistance. If you remember, the P20 Pro uses IP67. Huawei P30 Pro has IP68 certification. This makes   P30 Pro a water-resistant phone up to 2 meters .

Huawei P30 Pro Display Performance

The most significant change in the Huawei P30 Pro's screen, compared to the P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro, is the notch. In this model , Huawei narrowed the  notch, decided the drop notch and placed the camera at this point. But the display panel is OLED again. Thus, the phone can provide a very successful visual.

Using the same OLED panel as P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro, the P30 Pro offers a 6.47-inch display. With this screen size, the Huawei P30 Pro is a big-screen model from Mate 20 Pro, so  we can call the P series into the  Mate family. Because each of the previous P-series models had smaller-sized displays than Mate.

The display - body ratio of the P30 Pro is  88.6  percent. This means a screen larger than Mate 20 Pro compared to the body. 19.5: 9 aspect ratio is maintained on the phone.

The P30 Pro's screen resolution is  1080x2340 pixels . If we compare this ratio with other models now, it should be remembered that 1080x2240 pixels in P20 Pro and 1440x3120 pixels in  Mate 20 Pro . The resolution is increased according to the P20 Pro and the Mate 20 Pro has been left under. There's no problem with that. However, the magnification of the screen also reduced the pixel density slightly. Because the pixel density of the P30 Pro, that is, the number of pixels per inch is 398. This value is in  Galaxy S10 + 522 ppi.

These are the  models that now use the  OLED panel, high-resolution and advanced display technologies. As such, they can produce sharp images in terms of vitality, white balance and color reproduction. At this point, we can easily say that there is no distress. Those who look at the screen will be very pleased. In this sense, whether you play games, watch movies or enjoy a pleasant P30 Pro's screen. In the meantime  , let's say that the display  supports HDR10 .

What's Under Huawei P30 Pro's Screen?

In the technologies used under the P30 Pro's screen, our first stop is undoubtedly the fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor is also available in the P30 Pro, which we recently saw on the flagship status and even on some premium mid-segment phones  . The sensor, located at the bottom of the screen, is able to diagnose very smoothly. However , a change has been made to Mate 20 Pro in place of the sensor  . As is known, in Mate 20 Pro, this sensor was located in the middle of the screen, thus providing easy access. In the P30 Pro, this is well placed under the screen.

This layout makes access to the phone a little difficult. The same goes for the  Galaxy S10 +  . In that model, the sensor was still on the lower edge of the screen. Even in our S10 + review, we have mentioned that thumb is difficult to access to this sensor. However, the location in the Mate 20 Pro was very comfortable. Because the screen is large, it's easier to touch the middle of the phone, you have to extend your finger a bit to reach the bottom edge.

Another technology at the bottom of the screen is Huawei's  Acoustic Display Technology  . The P30 Pro does not have any handset space. Instead, Huawei took a different path and used a feature called Acoustic Display Technology. Accordingly, in the phone calls you make, the sound is transmitted from the inside of the screen to the ear by vibrations. In this way, you do not have to bring your ear to the handset to hear the sound clearly. This task is undertaken by the screen and the sound is transmitted by bone conduction, it works more effectively than the handset. During our tests, we received an effective result in a very noisy environment. In this sense, we can say that it is a highly successful innovative feature compared to the traditional method.

This feature is fine, but the use of this technology in the P30 Pro, another point is reflected negatively. The P30 Pro   does not have a stereo speaker . As known, the handset can be used as a second loudspeaker and thus a stereo speaker experience can be achieved. Because the handset has been removed, only the speaker at the bottom of the P30 Pro remains on its own. OK, this loudspeaker also offers high sound output,  Dolby Atmos  support provides a nice sound performance, but we would still like to have a stereo speaker.

Going back to the fingerprint sensor is not the only security method used in the P30 Pro. It also has face recognition via the camera   . Let's talk about the smooth operation of the P30 Pro's operating system.

Features of the Huawei P30 Pro Operating System

The operating system used in the Huawei P30 Pro is undoubtedly the  Android 9 Pie . We see the EMUI 9.1 as the interface, which provides the current operating system experience  . Huawei has been working on this operating system for years, and it really does a good job. Because the interface is very user-friendly and works fine with good optimization.

As we've seen on previous Huawei models, the P30 Pro comes with a single-layer interface without drawers, allowing you to restore this drawer if you want. You can restore the drawer from the "start screen style" section of the settings.

The top drawer has settings that you may want to access all quickly. From there you can  switch NFC off , eye comfort mode, wireless projection and much more. You can also start screen video recording here again. But there is a more practical way to do that.

Huawei also features the Knuckle Gestures , the Motion Control feature that P30 Pro introduced in its previous models  . This practical way to start the screen recording that we just mentioned, you can also double-click the screen with two fingers on the screen. Not only that, you can also take a single screen shot when you double click on the screen, so you don't have to press the power and volume buttons. Similarly, you can split the screen in the middle for two different applications. After using these features several times, you will notice how much they work.

Of course, the interface at the top of the screen you can close the notch. Again, you can change the screen resolution in the display settings or adjust the temperature with the color mode.

On the other hand, you can change or remove the navigation buttons in the "system navigation" section.

How does Huawei P30 Pro Performance?

Yes, we came to the technical specifications and performance of the Huawei P30 Pro. The P30 Pro  doesn't make much difference from the Mate 20 Pro as its technical infrastructure  . As a processor, the top model Kirin 980 is used and the  8nm  chipset is available with this 7nm architecture. Two of the cores provide power from the Cortex-A76 with 2.6 GHz and 1.9 GHz, while the other 4 use the 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 chip. We also see Mali-G76 as a graphics processor.

As we mentioned at the beginning of the review, P30 Pro has 2 different model options. We have  8 GB of RAM  and 256 GB of storage. There is also a 512 GB model, but this model is not available in our country.

So how does the P30 Pro perform in the light of this technical staff? As we do with all the smartphones we've studied, we've also ran P30 Pro on both the important synthetic tests and AnTuTu and Geekbench. When we look at the AnTuTu Benchmark before this duo  , we see that the P30 Pro has  collected 288543 points from this test  . The P30 Pro is located just in front of the Mate 20 Pro and stands one step behind the Galaxy S10 Plus.

When we come to Geekbench , P30 Pro   gets 3302 points with a single core score and 9753 with a multi-core score  .

Looking at the table with these scores, P30 Pro, which stands side by side with Mate 20 Pro with a single core score, is  just behind Samsung's  Exynos 9810  and  Exynos 9820 processor models.

When we get to the Geekbench multi-core table, we see that the Kirin 980  processor in the P30 Pro is  able to perform better than the Exynos 9810 when it uses all its cores. Thus, the P30 Pro jumps in the rankings and becomes the partner of the summit.

The P30 Pro:  Performance Mode . When you activate the performance mode under battery settings, you can achieve higher performance. When we activated this mode and re-performed the previous tests, we found that the P30 Pro   managed to score 315812 points from AnTuTu .

In the Geekbench test, the phone, which lifts the gear,  managed to score 3344 points with a single core score  and 9975 points with its multi-core performance  . Thus, in the competition with the S10 + in the synthetic tests, the P30 Pro, which covers the gap a little more, consumes a higher rate of battery power when used in this mode.

Yes, the technical staff of the P30 Pro is of course in the top line of performance. Aside from the impression on the paper and talking about real-world tests, we can say that you'll be able to run high-end applications on a smartphone in the P30 Pro.

As for the game, it is clear that the P30 Pro offers a comfortable gaming experience. The  P30 Pro played both PUBG  and  Asphalt 9 during the time we used it  , providing a very good gaming experience in HDR mode and high frame rate graphics settings on PUBG. Now let's take a look at the game performance of the Huawei P30 Pro together.

With both its performance and wide screen, it is clear that mobile players will love the P30 Pro. Because, Hauwei, the combination of graphene film and  steam chamber  heat pipe with a new generation of cooling system on the phone. So the phone does not get too hot in long-term play sessions.

Just before the P30 Pro goes into battery performance,   let's say that  it has Wi-Fi 802.11ac support and offers  Bluetooth 5 support. On the LTE side, you provide a Cat21 performance.

The performance tests we have applied to the Huawei P30 Pro can be seen in the video above.

Huawei P30 Pro Battery Life

Yes, we came to the battery performance of the Huawei P30 Pro. The phone is  equipped  with a 4200 mAh battery and shows impressive performance. This battery space is  more than 100 mAh from the Galaxy S10 + .

Using the same battery capacity as the Mate 20 Pro, the P30 Pro is also a fast charger with a  40W adapter. In addition to the 40W charging set,  the phone also supports 15W  wireless charging , and  also adopts the wireless reverse charging feature that comes with the Mate 20 Pro  . This allows you to charge other devices with wireless charging support by dropping them on the phone. To do this, you need to activate this feature in the battery settings.

We've done a number of tests on the battery performance of the P30 Pro. First of all, if we start with the Geekbench synthetic test, we found that the phone  discharged its battery in full capacity in this test for  13 hours and 9 minutes .

The classic 90-minute Full HD video test, connected to Wi-Fi and full-screen brightness P30 Pro,  7 percent lost a battery rate. This  means you can play video in full screen brightness for about  21 hours, which is a great time.

When you want to refill the battery of the P30 Pro, the  40W charger adapter  cuts off the feet. After completely discharging the battery of the phone, we measured the time by charging it to the charge. In just  15 minutes  , 40 percent of the phone  was charged, and after 30 minutes, we  were able to fill 74 percent . It took a total of 59 minutes for the phone to be fully charged   . This is really impressive.

As a result, the Huawei P30 Pro uses its 4200mAh battery very well. Of course, the P30 Pro,  which has a long service life and a convenient recharging time,  makes it possible to further extend the battery life of the phone by using power saving modes . In this sense, we can easily say that you will be comfortable with charging with the P30 Pro.

Huawei P30 Pro Cameras

If you remember Huawei had previously pushed the boundaries in mobile photography with the Mate 20 Pro. The P30 Pro is a new milestone in this field. Because the phone's cameras are very impressive. In fact, we can clearly say that the P30 Pro, as Huawei says. Huawei was right when he said he had a "super camera system" for the P30 Pro. Let's start talking about the technical details.

The P30 Pro uses a 4-inch camera system at the rear. The first of these is our  main camera measuring 27 mm and  40 MP . This camera features f / 1.6 diaphragm, optical image stabilizer and phase detection autofocus. The second camera is a 16mm 20 MP ultrawide lens with f / 2.2 diaphragm and a phase detection autofocus that allows us to capture wide-angle photos  . The third camera is a 125 mm and 8 MP  resolution telephoto lens for zooming  . This Periscope zoom lens   becomes the camera called SuperZoom and you can zoom in up to 50x, yes 50x. This camera offers a 5x optical, 10x hybrid zoom option. However,  digital zoom up to 50x also knows the possibility. In practice it is clear that you will use more 5x and 10x, but the point of the zoom is really important for the smartphone market.

Another foot of the 4-camera array is the  TOF sensor  . This sensor is used for depth measurement, and you benefit from taking great depths of field depth.

Another remarkable detail about the cameras in the Hauwei P30 Pro is the  409,600 ISO  . So if you're a little familiar with your professional shooting techniques, you can do wonders at night photography.

On the other hand, as with the Mate 20 Pro, it is also assertive about macro photography. You can also   take clear macro photos at a distance of 2.5 cm .

If we come to the front camera, we   can say that there is a front camera with a size of 32 MP .

As a result, you have a lot of choice on the P30 Pro. In different scenarios, your hand is strong. The P30 Pro puts it on the Mate 20 Pro and gets 112 points from  DxOMark ,   so it's on the top. The phones that follow her are Mate 20 Pro, P20 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10 + respectively.

Of course, the P30 Pro also has artificial intelligence support. The expert takes advantage of AI, which is called AI, in many scenarios and you get impressive results both in dark scenes and in daylight.

In the meantime, you can take advantage of the wide zoom range and the wide range of ISOs using all cameras. The presence of an optical image stabilizer is important for video. You can shoot 720p / 960 frames with the rear cameras   , and you can achieve 60 frames at 1080p. But here again, as in the Mate 20 Pro,  4K / 60 frames video  record can not see. There is also no 4K video recording on the front camera.
